Life ain't always beautiful
Sometimes it's just plain hard
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart
Life ain't always beautiful
You think you're on your way
And it's just a dead end road at the end of the day
But the struggles make you stronger
And the changes make you wise
And happiness has its own way of takin' its own sweet time
No, life ain't always beautiful
Tears will fall sometimes
Life ain't always beautiful
Sometimes it's just plain hard
Life can knock you down, it can break your heart
Life ain't always beautiful
You think you're on your way
And it's just a dead end road at the end of the day
But the struggles make you stronger
And the changes make you wise
And happiness has its own way of takin' its own sweet time
No, life ain't always beautiful
Tears will fall sometimes
Life ain't always beautiful
But it's a beautiful ride
Adapted from "Life Ain't Always Beautiful" from the album "Tough All Over" by Gary Allan
Sometimes, we are so knee deep in our cares and troubles that we fail to see how fortunate we really are. Sure, we could do with a little bit more (ok, a lot more) money so that the loan payments and credit card bills get settled on time. Or perhaps the workload seems too much to handle and we get buried under a ton of unfinished projects and deadlines. And sometimes things have a way of going awry all at once that it seems hopeless to even try any more.
Its times like these, when everything seems so bleak and I cannot muster the strength to carry on, that I will just stop. Stop doing whatever it is I am doing and just catch my breath. And then, I will begin to count my blessings. Literally thank God for all that I have (and what I do not have). My health. My family. My friends. My career...... oh and also my two absolutely adorable and yet infuriating doggies, Snoopy and Spunky.

Sometimes we get so preoccupied with all our problems that we forget to appreciate all that we already have in our lives... This is exactly what I went through several months back. Now at the end of each day, instead of worrying about things that are still unsettled, I try to look back on the wonderful events that took place that day. Oh yes, and blogging helps a lot too...
Yes, Dr. Shah. Blogging definitely helps. I loved your post about buka puasa with family. Yummy food made me drool all over. hehehe
